PURCHASE, N.Y. – With the Skyline Conference preseason polls being released this Thursday morning, the Manhattanville men's soccer team find themselves ranked in fourth place for the 2026 season.
Coming off a first-round exit in the Skyline Championship against Farmingdale last season, the Valiants enter the 2026 season with new head coach, Tom Buckner.

Tom Buckner takes over the program looking to build on a team that returns several important contributors while welcoming eight transfers to a roster that graduated eleven players from last season.

Leading the returning group is forward, Roberto Velasquez-Osorio (Monticello, N.Y./Monticello) the Division III NCAA active leader in career goals with thirty-eight. Velasquez-Osorio recorded six goals and three assists last season and will provide an established offensive presence as the team begins a new era under Buckner.

Aiden Sivio (Staten Island, N.Y./Monsignor Farrell), Alec Pineda (Yonkers, N.Y./Port Chester), and Alex Rojas (Mastic, N.Y./William Floyd) are the only other returning players who scored multiple goals in 2025. Their continued performance will be important as the team looks to replace the offensive and overall contribution of last year's graduating class.
In the midfield, Guido Sarango (Syracuse, N.Y./Nottingham) returns as the team's leader in minutes from last season, playing 1,103 minutes in the 2025 season.

There is a new look in goal for the Valiants this season, with Declan Whitfield (Jamesport, N.Y./St. Anthony's) being the only returning goalkeeper who saw in-game action last year. With a new group competing for the position, establishing consistency in the net will be an early priority.

The Valiants managed to gather one first place vote in the preseason poll, led by St. Joseph's L.I with five votes, Mount St. Vincent with four votes, and Merchant Marine Academy raking in two first place votes.

Manhattanville will face The College of New Jersey on September 1^st as their opener to the 2026 season.
