NEW YORK, N.Y. – Three student-athletes from Manhattanville University were named 2025-26 Skyline Conference Scholar-Athletes of the Year, the conference announced on Thursday.

Senior Esther Ramos (Queens, N.Y./Forest Hills) of the Valiants' women's basketball team, graduate student Thomas Jouanneau (Luneville, France/Lycee Arago) of men's tennis and sophomore Adrianna Filippelli (Mastic, N.Y./William Floyd) represented Manhattanville among the Skyline's 19 Scholar-Athletes of the Year, one from each of the conference's sponsored sports.

"Our Scholar-Athletes of the Year exemplify the very best of what it means to be a Skyline Conference student-athlete," said Skyline Conference Commissioner Melissa Reilly. "Their commitment to academic excellence, competitive success and leadership within their campus communities is truly commendable. We are proud to recognize these outstanding individuals for the dedication and discipline they have demonstrated both in the classroom and in their respective sports."

The Scholar-Athletes were chosen through a nomination process conducted at the end of the 2025-2026 academic year and were based on cumulative grade-point average, academic accomplishments and athletic excellence.

Ramos concluded her undergraduate studies in the spring, graduating with a 3.949 GPA with her degree in education. The outgoing senior put up the best season of her career in 2025-2026, being named a Skyline All-Conference First Team selection, a D3Hoops.Com All-Region Second Team honoree and a Met Basketball Writers Association All-Met Second Team recipient. Ramos scored 15.2 points per game, shooting .493 from the field and finishing with 6.6 rebounds per game, all of which were team-highs for Manhattanville. Ramos added 47 assists, 46 steals and four blocks. Academically, Ramos made her fourth Skyline Winter/Spring Academic Honor Roll and earned her third College Sports Communicators Academic All-District selection after the season.

Jouanneau was named the Skyline Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Year in his lone season with Manhattanville. The graduate transfer went a combined 13-0 against Skyline Conference opposition in singles and doubles play during the 2026 season, culminating with a run to the conference championship finals. Posting a 3.608 GPA in pursuit of his master's in sports business management, Jouanneau finished the year with a 12-7 mark in singles play and a 15-5 record in doubles, playing primarily in the top flight all season. He was also named to the Skyline All-Conference First Team in addition to his Player of the Year nod and made the Skyline Academic Honor Roll this year.

Filippelli also shined on the court in her sophomore season, serving as a key piece in the Valiants' Skyline Conference Championship victory. Filippelli was selected as the Skyline Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Year in addition to making the All-Conference First Team in the fall, finishing the year 12-1 in doubles and 9-3 in singles. Like Jouanneau, Filippelli was a nightmare for conference opponents, going 6-0 in both singles and doubles against the Skyline. The sport studies and occupational therapy double major posted a 3.966 GPA through her first two years at Manhattanville and made  the Skyline Academic Honor Roll, College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team and International Tennis Association Scholar Athletes list this year.
