PURCHASE, N.Y. – Manhattanville University (0-1-0) women's soccer returned to their home turf to open the 2026 season. After a tough battle, the Valiants fell to Ramapo College (1-0-0) 3-0.
Ramapo struck in the second minute, finding the back of the net to give the Roadrunners an early 1-0 advantage. Manhattanville responded by creating chances of its own, including attempts from
Drita Tinaj (Yorktown Heights, N.Y./Yorktown),
Deanna Lage (Yorktown Heights, N.Y./Lakeland), and
Jenna Moraglia (Seaford, N.Y./Seaford) but failed to connect to the back of the net.
Gabrielle Billetz (Clarksburg, Mass./Hoosac Valley) marked her first collegiate start in the net, making three saves in the opening half as Manhattanville entered the break trailing by one.
Another career milestone was made for the Valiants as freshman goalkeeper Elliot Allen entered, logging her first collegiate minutes. Despite the three-goal deficit, Manhattanville continued to battle.
In the second half,
Miana Eddy (Saint Johns, Fla./Creekside) and
Audrey Fenninger (New City, N.Y./Clarkstown South) sent attempts wide in the 72 minute.
Drita Tinaj (Yorktown Heights, N.Y./Yorktown) followed with a shot gone wide in the 78th minute. Although Manhattanville was unable to break through as Ramapo closed out the 3-0 decision,
Lexi Leone (Billings, Mont./Billings West) and
Audrey Fenninger (New City, N.Y./Clarkstown South) held the defense together, stopping the momentum for the Roadrunners throughout the final 15 minutes.
