Brian Sondey completed his first season as an assistant coach with the Manhattanville College men's basketball program in 2019-20. He came to Valiants in possession of a wealth experience on the sidelines, both as a head and assistant coach.

Prior to Manhattanville, Sondey served as the top assistant coach at Division III The College of New Rochelle. The Blue Angels won a program-best 17 games in 2018-19 and fell just short of winning the Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) championship. At CNR, he was responsible for game preparation and player development and also played a large role in the success of that season's HVIAC Player of the Year and All-Met selection Hunter Schenkel.

Prior to CNR, Sondey served as head coach at Division II Concordia College in Bronxville, N.Y., from 2010-18. During his eight seasons at the helm of the Clippers' men's basketball program, he amassed 79 victories, with placed him second all-time in the program's history in coaching wins. He also guided the team to their only two Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) postseason appearances. Under his watch, his student-athletes collected five All-Conference honors, one CACC Rookie of the Year accolade and five All-Met selections.

Off the court, Sondey also serves as the Director of Graduate Admissions at Manhattanville. He currently resides in Brewster, N.Y., with his wife Toni and his young son Tre.
