A three-year letterwinner on the court for the Valiants, Mike Horgan ’10 returns for his second season as an assistant coach with the Manhattanville men’s basketball team in 2013-14.
As an assistant, Horgan plays an integral role in all aspects of the men’s basketball program, including on- and off-campus recruiting, practice and game preparation and management, fundraising and alumni relations, and academic monitoring.
Horgan spent four seasons with the Manhattanville men’s basketball team from 2006-10, battling injury and illness to play in 66 games in the frontcourt in his last three years. He averaged a career-high 17.4 minutes as a senior co-captain in 2009-10, setting new career highs in rebounds, assists and free throws. As a result, he was named the school's Sports Medicine Athlete of the Year as a senior in 2009-10 for his committment to the program.
In four seasons with the Valiants, Manhattanville posted a cumulative 69-38 record, including the 2006-07 NCAA Tournament squad that went 23-6 and won the Skyline Conference Tournament championship, and a pair of teams that finished the regular season atop the Freedom Conference in 2007-08 and 2008-09.
Horgan graduated from Manhattanville in 2010 with a dual degree in history and finance. He currently resides in Purchase as he pursues his master’s degree in Sport Business Management at Manhattanville.
