Biography
2009-10: Appeared in four events as a senior, posting an 84.3 scoring average … posted his best score of the year in a dual match against Elmhurst (3/25), shooting an 81 to take third place overall … shot an 83 to take 28th place at the Susquehanna Spring Invitational (4/15).
2008-09: Took part in six events in his junior season, averaging 86.3 per 18 holes over nine rounds … shot a season-low 81 in his first round of the season at the Tim Brown Invitational (9/7-8), carding a two-day 167 to place 50th overall … shot a season-best two-day score of 185 to finish in 25th place at the Skidmore Palamountain Invitational (4/12-13).
2007-08: Played 12 rounds for the Valiants as a sophomore, averaging an 86.5 per round … made his first collegiate appearance at the Nazareth/Hobart Invitational (9/22-23), carding an 82 on day two to finish in 33rd place … shot a season-low 80 on day one and added an 83 to finish 41st at the Adelphi Fall Invitational (10/7-8) … began the spring by placing second among Valiant players with a career-best round of 80 at the Hamilton Spring Invitational (4/8).
2006-07 (at Utah): Did not play golf for Utes.
High School: A four-year letterwinner for the Miners … led team to 5A State Championship as a senior … served as team captain during senior season … earned All-Region and All-State honors in 2005 … given team’s Senior Leadership Award.
Personal: Son of Rafael & Brenda Mena … major is management with dual minors in sociology and history … born March 1, 1987.
