Biography

2009-10: An All-Freedom Conference first-team selection as a senior … averaged a career-best 80.3 strokes per round in 15 rounds over nine events … had one top-five and two top-10 finishes … earned his first top-10 of the year by carding an 87 to take 10th against Elmhurst (3/25) … had two of his three best rounds of the year at the Freedom Conference Championship (5/1-2), shooting 74 and 77 to finish second overall and help the Valiants to a first-place finish … was the team’s second-best finisher at the NCAA Div. III Championships (5/11-12), posting rounds of 83 and 76 to finish 99th.

 

2008-09: Finished second on the team with an 81.4 scoring average over 14 rounds in his junior year … shot in the 70s in five of his first six rounds of the year … finished the Tim Brown Invitational (9/7-8) at nine-over par with rounds of 75 and 78 to place 25th … carded dual rounds of 79 to place 10th at the ECAC Metro/Upstate NY Championship (9/27-28) … tied for the team season low with a day-two 74 at the Hamilton Fall Invitational (10/4-5) to place 31st overall … shot a 79 on day two of the Freedom Conference Championships (4/26-27) to move into a tie for 24th place.

 

2007-08: Played 14 rounds in his sophomore season, averaging 84.6 per 18 holes … shot a 79 to place 35th in his first event of the season at the Moravian Fall Invitational (9/20) … shot a season-best 77 on day one of the Nazareth/Hobart Invitational (9/22-23), finishing in 20th place … took 15th place at the RPI Invitational (10/20-21) thanks to day-two 79 … earned a 13th-place finish at the year-end Freedom Conference Championships (4/26-27), shooting an 83-89.

 

2006-07: Completed 12 rounds as a freshman, finishing with 86.5 scoring average … ten rounds came during fall season, including an 81 at the Wesley Fall Invitational (9/14), in his first collegiate round … finished 17th at Skyline Conference Championships, carding 89-87 to help Valiants to second-place finish … posted a career-best second place finish at Elmira Spring Invitational (4/30), shooting an 80 to finish one stroke off the lead and help the Valiants win the tournament.

High School: A two-year letterwinner for the Vikings … named Best Golfer among Catholic schools in 2005 … team’s Most Improved Player as a senior … led baseball team in batting in 2004 … named Hardest Hitter on Viking football team in 2005 … also lettered in basketball.

Personal: Son of Walter & Maria Bowers … sister, Michele, played softball at Division I Providence … cousin, Amanda Perez, is a senior on the Valiant women’s soccer team … majoring in management with a sociology minor … born September 26, 1988.
