Tim Weir returned to Manhattanville as an assistant coach with the Valiant men's lacrosse team in 2015. Weir previously spent five years as an assistant coach with the program from 2006-10 and served as the interim head coach of the Valiant lacrosse team in 2011.

Weir spent time as both offensive coordinator and defensive coordinator in his first five years at Manhattanville before taking the reins of the entire program in 2011.

As defensive coordinator with the Valiants, Weir presided over one of the best defenses in the conference and the region in recent years. In 2009, the Valiants ranked 32nd in Division III by allowing just 7.93 goals per game and posted the lowest goals against average by a Manhattanville side since 1992. The Valiants' man-down defense was also outstanding, as the team led the Middle Atlantic Conference and ranked sixth in the nation with an 85.1 percent success rate.

Weir already possesses an extensive coaching resume at almost every level of lacrosse, most impressively at the national level with the Ireland National team. Weir served as head coach for the Irish at the 2010 Federation of International Lacrosse Men's World Championships and led the country to a ninth-place finish out of 29 teams in Manchester, England. He also was promoted to head coach of the national team for the 2008 European Championships, helping the team to sixth place in the 18-nation field.

He has held several other coaching positions for Ireland since 2003, including serving as Team Ireland's offensive coordinator at both the 2004 European Championships and the 2006 FIL World Championships. Weir also serves as the Director of Coaching and Development for the Irish Lacrosse Foundation.

Before coming to Manhattanville in 2006, Weir was the head coach at highly regarded Lakeland/Panas High School. He guided the team to eight Section I championship game appearances and two Section I titles, as well as seven league championships, one regional title and one appearance in the New York State Final Four. During his time with the Rebels, Weir produced nine high school All-Americans and seven that went on to earn All-American honors at the collegiate level.
