Amber Radomski completed her fourth season as head coach of the Manhattanville softball program in 2012, continuing her goal of returning the Valiants to their position of conference and regional prominence.
Radomski led the Valiants to another successful season in 2012, as the Valiants earned the top seed in the Freedom Conference Tournament despite fielding a team with 10 newcomers and just one senior on the roster. The squad finished the year with a 20-17 record, the most wins for the team since joining the Freedom Conference, and also made its second straight appearance in the championship round of the Freedom Conference Tournament. After the season, four Valiants were named to the All-Freedom Conference teams, the most selections since the team joined the conference in 2007.
The Valiants were also one of the most powerful teams in the country on the season, finishing the year third in Division III in home runs per game with 39 long balls in 37 games (1.05/gm). Individually, Laura Montalto and Jessica Van Galen both ranked in the top 20 in D-III in homers per game with 10 homers apiece on the year.
The 2011 season was a rollercoaster ride for Radomski and the Valiants, finishing with a 16-18 record and a tie for third place in the Freedom Conference. After losing their first game in the Freedom Conference Tournament, the Valiants rebounded to win two games and advance to the championship round for the first time in four seasons with the conference. Following the season, Lindsay Zekus and Samantha Howe were named to the All-Freedom Conference first and second team, respectively. The Valiants continued to be an exciting home team under Radomski in 2011, as four of the team’s eight wins came in their final at-bat and five games overall went longer than the scheduled seven innings.
Radomski helped the team to an 18-19-1 record and a second-place finish in the Freedom Conference in her second year at the helm in 2010, giving the team its first Freedom Conference Tournament berth in three years with the conference. Under her guidance, Howe led the Freedom Conference in ERA and both centerfielder Lynsey Schill and catcher Ashley Dell were named to the All-Conference first and second team, respectively, after the season.
In her first season as a collegiate head coach, Radomski led the Valiants to a 19-19 record in 2009, the second-most wins by a first-year coach in program history and the fifth-highest single-season win total at Manhattanville. Two of her players, Howe and shortstop Nicole Oliva, were named to the All-Freedom Conference team following the season as the Valiants just missed a berth in the Freedom Conference Tournament with a 7-9 conference mark. The Valiant team proved to be a very resilient squad, as Manhattanville recorded five walk-off wins at Manhattanville Field and also won two more games in its final at-bat on the home field.
