Jackie Layng

Jackie Layng was appointed as the assistant coach of the women’s basketball team at Manhattanville College prior to the 2019-20 season.

This will be Layng’s second season with the Valiants after helping to guide the squad to the Skyline Conference semifinals, 22 victories, two all-conference selections and one 1,000-point scorer in her first season in 2019-20.

Prior to Manhattanville, Layng spent her first two collegiate years playing guard for Division II Saint Leo University. She was a member of the Saint Leo President's Student-Athlete Scholar Club and was named to the 2016 and 2017 Spring SSC Commissioner’s Honor Roll.

Layng transferred her junior year to fellow Division III institution Trinity University (Texas) and was named captain as a senior. She was a member of the 2018 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) championship team, earning a trip to the NCAA tournament.

Layng has eight years of prior coaching experience. Prior to joing the Valiants, she most recently coached with the 2018 Warwick Valley Women’s High School summer league as well as multiple AAU and CYO teams.

A 2019 graduate of Trinity, Layng is a native of Warwick, N.Y., and currently resides in Purchase, N.Y., while pursuing her master’s of sports business at Manhattanville.
