Edasia Martinez was appointed as the assistant coach of the women’s soccer team at Manhattanville College in August 2020.
Prior to Manhattanville, Martinez was a part of the Farmingdale State College women’s soccer program. During her senior season in 2019, the Rams won the Skyline Conference Championship and went to the NCAA Tournament for the third year in a row.
In addition to her collegiate playing career, Martinez has been coaching the game for five years. She started at the Brentwood Youth Soccer Club where she coached and evaluated individual progress in players that ranged in age from 5-15 years old.
In 2019, she became a junior coach for the New York Red Bulls Academy in Northport, N.Y. There she shadowed a senior coach as she worked and trained boys and girls ages 13-15. During her time there she learned new effective ways to guide her players to success.
A 2020 graduate of Farmingdale State, Martinez is a native of Brentwood, N.Y., and currently resides in Purchase, N.Y., while pursuing her master’s in sports business at Manhattanville.
