Joe Vandervere joined the Manhattanville men's hockey coaching staff in August 2026.
Vandervere joins head coach David Turco on the bench at the Playland Ice Casino as an assistant coach with four years of prior coaching experience. He worked with the PAL Junior Islanders from 2022 to 2025, serving as associate head coach for the junior hockey club in Hauppauge. In his three years with the Junior Islanders, Vandervere worked alongside the club's head coach in game plan and player development to optimize team performance. He was further involved with individual player development, working one-on-one with skaters to hone skills to improve performance on the ice.
Vandervere then served as assistant coach for Hiram College for the 2025-2026 season, handling practice plans, lineup construction, opponent scouting, travel planning, fundraising and recruiting for the NCAA Division III Terriers.
A 2024 graduate of St. John's University, Vandervere holds a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management with a concentration in Business Administration.
