Kevin Cullen was appointed to the position of assistant athletic trainer at Manhattanville College in August 2019.
This is Cullen’s second stint at Manhattanville after having spent two years on the Valiants athletic training staff as a graduate assistant from 2015-17. Back then, he was responsible for the rehabilitation of all student-athletes, was the lead on concussion testing and implemented a sideline concussion test for impact sports.
Prior to his current stint at Manhattanville, Cullen was the assistant athletic trainer at The College of Mount St. Vincent. While there, he was responsible for the day-to-day operations of the athletic training room and worked closely with the soccer, wrestling, basketball, volleyball and baseball teams. He also took the lead on post-concussion return to play and return to learn.
Cullen earned a Doctor of Athletic Training degree from Moravian College in 2020. He is also a 2018 graduate of Manhattanville College where he earned a Masters of Arts in Teaching, a 2015 graduate of Florida Southern College, where he received a bachelor’s of science in athletic training and a 2013 graduate of State College of Florida where he earned his associate’s degree.
Cullen has been apart of two publications. He published an article in the October 2020 edition of the NATA News called ‘Is Icing To Go The Right Answer’ and Co-Authored a publication that was submitted to the 2021 APTA Combined Sections meeting titled “The Association Between On-Ice Sprint Time and Hip Strength In Collegiate Hockey Players” Cullen is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA) and the New York State Athletic Training Association (NYSATA) as a certified athletic trainer. He is also a Graston M1 Provider and is certified by the American Red Cross in First Aid/AED/CPR for the Professional Rescuer.
Cullen currently resides in his native Dobbs Ferry, N.Y., with his wife Amber and their dog Bailey
