After a four-year career inside Kennedy Gymnasium that cemented herself as one of the greatest players in Manhattanville women's volleyball history, Loren Hernandez returns to campus ahead of the 2026-27 academic year to serve as assistant coach for the Valiants' men's volleyball program.
Hernandez joins the men's volleyball staff following her highly-decorated playing career. The leading killer in program history with 1,281 putaways for her career, Hernandez was a two-time Skyline Conference Player of the Year in 2024 and 2025 alongside back-to-back All-ECAC Second Team recognition. Hernandez was also the 2022 Skyline Rookie of the Year and was recognized by the Manhattanville Department of Athletics as Female Athlete of the Year as both a junior and a senior.
Hernandez was a key figure in the Valiants' dynasty that captured four-straight Skyline Conference titles during each of her years on the roster. For her postseason heroics, she was selected as the Skyline Championship Most Outstanding Player in 2024 and 2025.
Hernandez completed her undergraduate studies at Manhattanville in 2026, earning her bachelor's degree in business management.
