After cementing her legacy as one of the top players in Manhattanville women’s volleyball program history, Vianca Vital returned to Purchase in August 2024 as assistant coach for the upstart men’s volleyball team.
No stranger to Kennedy Gymnasium, Vital served as the Valiants’ primary setter from 2019 to 2023 where she set the career record for assists with 3,399. She also completed her tenure with the team third all-time in digs with 1,267.
Following her stellar freshman season in 2019, Vital was recognized as Mnahttanville’s Female Rookie of the Year. Vital’s recognitions went beyond Manhattanville, as she was named Skyline Conference Player of the Year following the conclusion of her graduate year in 2024. Vital was a four-time Skyline All-Conference First Team selection, was recognized by the AVCA as an All-Region Honorable Mention in 2022, and twice appeared on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team in 2022 and 2023. A three-time Skyline Conference champion, Vital was named Conference Tournament Most Outstanding Player in 2023 and 2024.
Away from campus, Vital has served as a volleyball coach at Chelsea Piers since 2022 and Greens Farms Academy since 2024. Outside of volleyball, Vital served as a digital media marketing intern with Oneighty FCB in Puerto Rico during the summer of 2022 where she was responsible for content creation, marketing efforts and promotional outreach.
Vital earned her degree in business management in 2022 with a minor in sport studies, finance and marketing before earning a master’s in marketing communication management in 2023. A resident of Carolina, Puerto Rico, Vital currently resides in Purchase as she pursues a master’s in sports business management.
