WILKES-BARRE, Pa. –
It was another tri-match and another split for the Manhattanville women's volleyball team on Saturday at the Freedom/Commonwealth Conference Crossover Tournament at King's (Pa.) College's Scandlon Gymnasium, as the Valiants dropped a 3-0 (25-19, 25-15, 25-17) decision to Lycoming but came back to earn its fourth straight tri-match split with a 3-1 (28-26, 25-21, 21-25, 25-20) victory over Arcadia.

The Valiant offense had a hard time getting going in the first match of the day, as the Valiants recorded just 19 kills on 76 attacks in suffering a straight-set loss to the Warriors. Seniors Damaris Morales (Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic/Colegio San Jose) and Maggie Black (Seattle, Wash./The Center School) tied for the team-lead with five kills apiece, while classmate Makana Gomes (Honolulu, Hawaii/'Iolani) was the lone Valiant in double-figures in any category with a team-leading 10 digs while also adding eight assists and three kills.

Jackie Oliva led Lycoming with a match-high 14 kills on 22 attempts, while Katelyn McKillip tied Gomes for the match-high with 10 digs of her own.

Manhattanville rebounded from that Lyco loss to take down Arcadia in four sets, as the Valiants built up a two-set lead and then allowed a minor slip up in the third set before closing out the Knights in four.

Individual statistics for Manhattanville against the Knights were not available as of Saturday night.

Manhattanville (9-7, 0-3 Freedom) will face its toughest test of the season on Tuesday night, as the Valiants welcome AVCA #5 Eastern to Kennedy Gym for a Freedom Conference matchup beginning at 7 p.m. GoValiants.TV will have the live video coverage starting at 6:55 p.m.
