Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 MAHWAH, N.J. – Another day brought another split for the Manhattanville women's volleyball team on the second and final day of the Roadrunner Invitational, hosted by Ramapo on Saturday at the Bradley Center. The Valiants started the day with an impressive 3-0 (25-7, 25-13, 25-12) win over Centenary (N.J.) before falling to host Ramapo in the final match, 3-0 (25-16, 25-19, 29-27).

Senior Alyssa Taylor (Craik, Sask./Craik) was the offensive star of the day for Manhattanville (7-4), hitting an impressive .444 with 20 kills and only four errors on 36 attacks, while also adding seven service aces. Senior Susy Camaj (Lagrangeville, N.Y./Millbrook) had 14 kills and a team-leading eight aces on the day, while freshman Megan Quinabo (Pearl City, Hawaii/Kamehameha Schools-Kapalama) contributed 45 assists and also had seven aces.

With her 14 kills on the day, Camaj leapfrogged both Jaime Kriksciun '99 and Kim Guadalupe '02 into third place all-time in kills at Manhattanville with 632 career put downs.

The first match of the day was won with relative ease by Manhattanville, as the Valiants posted a season-best .328 hitting percentage and won 20 of their 75 points from the service line in a straight-set win over the Cyclones.

Camaj and Taylor were dominant for Manhattanville in the win, as Camaj had nine kills and hit .583 while Taylor picked up eight kills and hit at a .538 clip, and the two players also combined for 13 aces. In addition, junior Amanda Materasso (Putnam Valley, N.Y./Putnam Valley) added five kills and Quinabo had 17 assists in the win.

The Valiants did much of their damage from the service line in the first set, as Manhattanville recorded just five kills and needed only 13 attack attempts in cruising to a 25-7 win. The offense picked up in the final two frames, posting 13 kills and .385 hitting in the second set and 10 more kills in the deciding third set.

For the match, Manhattanville had 28 kills and only nine errors on 58 attacks, while Centenary was limited to only eight kills and 15 errors on their 52 attack chances.

The Valiants had a little more trouble with Ramapo in the second match of the afternoon, as the visitors put up a good fight but ultimately fell to the hosts in three sets.

Taylor and freshman Alissa Primavera (Brewster, N.Y./Brewster) both put in big numbers offensively in a losing effort, with Primavera matching her season-high with 13 kills and Taylor putting down another 12. Quinabo had a nice effort with a double-double of 28 assists and 10 digs, while junior Alyssa Casino (Rye Brook, N.Y./Maria Regina) was all over the court defensively with 29 digs.

After not really threatening in the first set, Manhattanville looked good to start the second frame, jumping out to a 15-11 lead. But Ramapo picked up 14 of the set's final 18 points to take a two sets to none lead.

Things looked to be over early in the third set after the Roadrunners scored the first seven points, and Ramapo continued to hold a lead for most of the set and led by a 21-14 score late. But Manhattanville started a comeback, going on a 9-2 run to knot the score at 23. The Valiants did everything they could to stay in the match, fending off four match points to keep things going, but they could not keep it up and eventually succumbed by a 29-27 score.

Manhattanville will start up all-important Freedom Conference play on Wednesday night, as the Valiants travel to Misericordia for a 7 p.m. meeting with the Cougars.
