DALLAS, Pa.- The Manhattanville field hockey team struggled to contain Misericordia's potent offense on Saturday afternoon, falling to the Cougars by a final score of 6-1 in Freedom Conference play.

Manhattanville (2-10, 0-2 Freedom) was outshot 24-4 against Misericordia (6-5, 2-0 Freedom), tallying only one goal that came off the stick of graduate student
Kirsten Savage (Harrington Park, N.J./Old Tappan). Lindsay Hischak and Colby Eldridge combined for five of the six Misericordia goals, including three from Eldridge.

The Cougars struck first in the ninth minute when it was Hischak collecting a pass from Eldridge, finding the back of the net past sophomore goalkeeper
Meghan Hughes (Kintnersville, Pa./Palisades). After the goal from Hischak, the Valiants eventually tied it up. In the 24th minute of play, Savage scored her ninth goal of the season, notching the score up at one goal a piece.

The game would not be tied for very long, as Misericordia took back the lead just three minutes later when it was Eldridge scoring her first goal of the game. The goal from Eldridge led to five unanswered goals by the Cougars, sending Manhattanville home with a 6-1 Freedom Conference loss.

In net, Hughes tallied five saves on 18 Misericordia shots before being replaced by freshman
Kaitlin Halloran (Nesconset, N.Y./Smithtown East), making three saves on six shots. For Misericordia, Angela Pasquini secured two saves on four shots.
