The Valiants dominated the second set as well, putting down 14 kills to earn themselves a two-set advantage. With the visitors holding a 6-4 lead early in the frame, Manhattanville then won 13 of the next 14 points, thanks to four kills each from Primavera and Mackey, before closing the frame with five in a row.
The teams alternated points early in the third set before a 7-2 run gave the Valiants some breathing room. Manhattanville then closed the frame with 11 consecutive points to close out its first conference win of the season.
Manhattanville will get back to tri-match play on Saturday, when the team travels to New Jersey City University to take on the host Gothic Knights and Maritime (N.Y.) College beginning at 1 p.m.
