PURCHASE, N.Y. – Senior
Bri Pabon (Newington, Conn./Newington) led four Valiant starters in double figures with a game-high 15 points as the Manhattanville College women's basketball team retained bragging rights in the Battle of Anderson Hill Road for the 16th straight game with a 77-51 win over neighboring Purchase College in non-conference action on Tuesday night at the Purchase Gym.

The Valiants used some shooting to cool down the Panthers, connecting at a 53.3 percent (32 of 60) clip from the field over the 40 minutes. Manhattanville also forced 28 Purchase turnovers and converted them into 39 points, while also posting a decisive 38-18 edge in points in the paint.
Manhattanville came out strong in the first quarter, outscoring Purchase by a 22-9 margin to take early control of the game. After the Panthers scored the first two buckets of the game, the Valiants went on a 21-3 run over the next 6:35, with Scott-Mason scoring nine of those points herself.
The Valiants increased their lead to as many as 18 points in the second period after Purchase whittled the lead down to nine, going on a 9-0 run that culminated with a Pryce jumper that put the visitors up 34-16 with 5:40 to go in the first half.
The lead never decreased to single digits again in the second half, reaching as high as 27 points in the final minute of the game thanks to a jumper by freshman
Ivy Coles (Freeport, N.Y./Christ The King). Manhattanville closed the game on a 21-8 run to seal the team's third win of the year.
Manhattanville will return to the court after Thanksgiving, when the squad travels to SUNY Old Westbury on Monday for a 5 p.m. tipoff with the Panthers.
