Valiants Stay Hot, Win Third Straight With 3-0 Victory Over Brooklyn

BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The Manhattanville College men's soccer team extended their winning streak to three games Monday, rolling past Brooklyn College 3-0 in a non-conference matchup.

After being named MAC Freedom Offensive Player of the Week earlier today, senior Omar Parra (Gulfport, Miss./Gulfport) continued his scorching stretch of offense, putting home two more goals to give him 11 for the season. The senior now has eight goals in his last 152 minutes of action.

Freshman Cristian Araujo (Miami, Fla./Miami Palmetto) scored the third goal for Manhattanville, finding the back of the net for the second consecutive game to help the Valiants improve to 6-3 on the season.

In goal for Manhattanville, freshman Tim Carsting (Falun, Sweden/Soltorgsgymnasiet) stopped four Bulldog shots to earn his fourth win and also fourth shutout of the season.

The Valiants controlled the tempo for most of the game Monday, outshooting Brooklyn (4-5-1 overall) 15-8, 9-4 in shots on goal. The Valiants have now outscored opponents 15-2 during their three-game winning streak, their highest output over that span since putting up 24 goals in a three-game stretch in 2004.

Manhattanville will look to extend its winning streak Wednesday when they host Lehman College in their final tune-up before entering MAC Freedom play this weekend when they travel to Eastern University.
