GETTYSBURG, Pa. – The Manhattanville College women's volleyball faced stiff competition on Saturday at the Gettysburg College Tri-Match, as the Valiants dropped a pair of matches to the host Bullets and Haverford College.
Senior
Kerry Mackey (Smithtown, N.Y./Christ the King) recorded a team-best 23 kills on .235 hitting on the day, and she was followed by classmate

Haverford 3, Manhattanville 1 (25-18, 24-26, 25-20, 25-22)
Manhattanville put down the most kills in a four-set match since the rebirth of the program in 2007, but it wasn't enough as the Valiants fell in four sets to Haverford.
The Valiants recorded 58 kills and hit .201 for the match, with three players registering double-doubles. Mackey recorded her first career double-double with a match-high 18 kills and a career-best 11 digs, while Dattoma chipped in 14 kills and 10 digs. Schutte also recorded her second double-double of the year with 11 digs and a season-high 45 assists to go with four blocks, while senior
Asia-Morgohn Reid (Mount Vernon, N.Y./Nellie A. Thornton) added 12 kills and a match-best six blocks.
After losing a lead in the first set, the Valiants showed some heart in the second set, surviving three set points and winning the final five points of the frame to post a 26-24 win. Manhattanville held a lead late in the fourth set as well, but could not hold the advantage and force a decisive fifth set.
Gettysburg 3, Manhattanville 0 (25-17, 25-12, 26-24)
The offense was not there for Manhattanville in the second match of the day, as the Valiants recorded a negative hitting percentage for the first time all season in a straight-set loss to Gettysburg.
Dattoma and junior
Laura LiVolsi (Washingtonville, NY/Washingtonville) both had a team-best six kills in the match. Schutte had the team's only double-double with 18 assists and 12 digs, while Lopez added a match-high 18 digs.
Manhattanville could not get the attack going in its second match of the day, hitting -.017 with just 20 kills and 22 errors. The team did not hit well until the third frame, when the visitors put down 12 kills and had a set point at 24-23 before three straight Bullet points ended the set and the match.
The Valiants will look to get back on track on Wednesday, when the team travels to Delaware Valley University for a MAC Freedom matchup beginning at 7 p.m.
