PURCHASE, N.Y. – The Manhattanville College women's lacrosse team dominated on the stat sheet but that did not translate to a victory on Saturday afternoon, as Misericordia University goalie Katie McLoughlin made 17 saves in helping the Cougars to a 14-8 win over the Valiants in MAC Freedom action at GoValiants.com Field.

Manhattanville (6-4, 1-1 MAC Freedom) finished the afternoon with a 33-17 edge in shots and controlled 18 of 24 draws, but the Valiants were unable to solve McLoughlin, who kept Misericordia (7-2, 2-0 MAC Freedom) unbeaten in conference play with her 17 saves, including limiting the Valiants to a 2-of-12 effort from the eight-meter arc.

Junior
Carly Weiss (Mahopac, N.Y./Mahopac) tied for the game-high with five points on two goals and three assists for the Valiants, while senior
Sarah Dalsey (Ocean City, N.J./Ocean City) scored twice with one assist to join Weiss as the newest members of the 100-point club, becoming the 12th and 13th players in program history to reach triple digits in a Valiant uniform.

Misericordia used a pair of four-goal runs to open up an 8-2 lead with 12:37 left in the opening half, with the only Valiant goals coming 26 seconds apart from Dalsey and sophomore
Kat Reilly (Holbrook, N.Y./Sachem North). The Valiants got back within four after a man-down goal from Weiss with 2:07 in the half, but Misericordia's Kaila Quinlivan scored a free-position goal with eight seconds left to give the Cougars a 10-5 lead at the break.

Weiss again got the home team within four to start the second half, but the next four goals went the way of the visitors as the Cougars opened up a 14-6 advantage with 14:52 left. Manhattanville kept Misericordia off the scoreboard for the rest of the game, but could only manage two goals from Dalsey and senior
Jenna Nance (Glendale, Calif./Glendale) at the other end.

Freshman
Bella Marchiselli (Williston Park, N.Y./Our Lady of Mercy Academy) suffered the loss, giving up eight goals in 17:23 of the action, while senior
Lauren Cassidy (Oceanside, N.Y./Oceanside) made three saves the rest of the way for the home team.

Manhattanville will finish up non-conference play on Tuesday, when the Valiants host Centenary (N.J.) University under the lights beginning at 7 p.m. at GoValiants.com Field.
