POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – The Manhattanville College field hockey team dropped its 2018 season opener to the host Vassar College Brewers 10-0 in the opening round of the Betty Richey Tournament Friday afternoon, Aug 31, at Weinberg Turf Field.

Elaina Nacinovich (Carmel, N.Y./Carmel) made nine saves for the Valiants (0-1) in 46:52 of action, while freshman
Zoe Fillebrown (Nashua, N.H./Nashua North) made six saves in 23:08 in her collegiate debut. The Valiants earned three penalty corners in the match, but were unable to find the back of the cage.
Eight different players scored for the Brewers (1-0), led by Megan Caveny and Alyssa More, who scored two goals apiece. Manhattanville will wrap up tournament play tomorrow against Marywood University at 1:00 p.m.
