NEWBURGH, N.Y. -- The Manhattanville College women's soccer team played on the road Tuesday night, Sept. 25, against future Skyline Conference opponent Mount Saint Mary College. The Valiants and Knights we're virtually even all night, but the home squad was able to score the game's lone goal in the 85th minute as Manhattanville fell 1-0.
It was a very clean game for both squads as no cards were called on either side and the offensive chances were close as well, with the Knights (5-4-1) outshooting the Valiants (2-5-1) on net 7-4, and 9-6 overall. Freshman keeper
Alexa Pyatsky (Garden City, N.Y./Garden City), fresh off her first collegiate shutout, made six saves for Manhattanville, while a pair of Mt. St. Mary goalies made two saves apiece for the win. Freshmen

Up next for Manhattanville is the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom opener in St. Davids, Pa., Saturday afternoon, Sept. 29. The Valiants will square off with the Eastern University Eagles in a scheduled 1:00 p.m. match.
