Men's Soccer Keeps Rolling, Extend Unbeaten Streak to Eight Games

PURCHASE, N.Y. – The Manhattanville College men's soccer team defeated Skyline conference opponent Purchase College by a score of 5-1 to win the Battle of Anderson Hill Road on Saturday, Oct. 12. Junior midfielder Pablo Bravo Olle (Barcelona, Spain/LFG Bon Soleil) was at the forefront of the team's attack with five points on the day. The Valiants are now unbeaten in their last eight contests.

It did not take Manhattanville (8-2-2, 5-0-1 Skyline) long to get on the board, sophomore midfielder Kendall Davis (Bound Brook, N.J./Immaculata) struck in the third minute on a goal assisted by Bravo Olle. The Valiants would tally one more goal before the end of the first half of play. In the 28th minute, Bravo Olle found the back of the net for his first goal of the afternoon and was assisted by sophomore midfielder Nico Diaz (Miami, Fla./Miami Palmetto). The score was 2-0 at half and the team controlled all facets of play, totaling 12 shots to Purchase's (6-6-1, 4-2 Skyline) two.

The second half saw more offense from Manhattanville. Bravo Olle recorded his second goal in the 66th minute from inside the box. He was assisted by Diaz and freshman forward Eli Pardo (Norwalk, Conn./Brien McMahon) who worked the ball down the right side of the field and found a streaking Bravo Olle in front of the net. The Panthers scored their only goal of the day shortly after and in the 67th minute the score was 3-1.

Manhattanville did not hesitate to answer back and two goals from junior forward Fabori Conde (Conakry, Guinea/Seventy-First), the first in the 75th minute assisted by junior defender Jeffrey Discua (Mount Kisco, N.Y./Fox Lane) and the second in the 82nd minute, put the game away for the Valiants. The four-goal lead remained until the final whistle and Manhattanville walked off the field with a 5-1 victory and an undefeated conference record.

The Crimson and White return to the field on Tuesday, Oct. 15, to take on Skyline opponent Maritime College in Throggs Neck, N.Y. starting at 7:30 P.M.
