DALLAS, PA. – The Manhattanville College men's lacrosse team fell behind early on the road at Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom rival Misericordia University Saturday afternoon, April 13, and was never able to recover despite a strong third quarter en route to the 13-7 defeat.
 
The Valiants (6-6, 1-3 MACF) fell behind 7-0 in the first quarter to the Cougars (6-6, 2-2 MACF), but rookie 
Harrison Yoguez (Trumbull, Conn./St. Joseph (H.S.)) scored a late goal to make it 7-1 heading into the second. Rookie 
Matt LaBash (Stratford, Conn./St. Joseph (H.S.)) scored one early in on the second for the only goal of the period to make it 7-2 at the half.
 
Manhattanville outscored Misericordia 4-1 in the third quarter to climb all the way back and make it 8-6. Ciffone scored twice, joined by Yoguez and junior 
T.J. Caccavo (Carlsbad, Calif./San Marcos). Unfortunately, the Cougars outscored the Valiants 5-1 in the fourth to take the game by six.
 
Highlights:
	- Yoguez finished with three goals on three shots.
 
	- Ciffone notched three points on a pair of goals and an assist.
 
	- LaBash notched a goal and an assist to go with a pair of ground balls.
 
	- Freshman Kevin Rafferty (Yonkers, N.Y./Archbishop Stepinac) finished with an assist as well as four ground balls and two caused turnovers.
 
	- Senior Sam Hahn (Briarcliff Manor, N.Y./Briarcliff) also had four ground balls and caused a turnover.
 
	- Junior Jason Frezza (Lake Ronkonkoma, N.Y./Portledge) made 17 stops on 30 shots.
 
The Valiants will return to action for a home MAC Freedom contest at GoValiants.com Field this Wednesday, April 10, at 4:00 p.m. against the visiting Delaware Valley University Aggies.
