BRONXVILLE, N.Y. — The Manhattanville College men's tennis team continued it's impressive play of late, picking up it's third consecutive victory in an 8-1 decision over future Skyline opponent Sarah Lawrence College Sunday, April 14.
Freshmen
Alvaro de la Plaza (Malaga, Spain/Homeschooled (Laurel Springs, Calif.)) and
Dylan Crowley (Pelham, N.Y./Pelham Memorial) picked up a strong 8-2 win in first doubles action, and the team of sophomores
Jan Senkerik (Zlin, Czech Republic/The Hill Academy) and
Maguire Balke (Yardville, N.J./Steinert)Â had a perfect 8-0 victory in second doubles. Junior
Alex Fleischman (Riverside, Conn./King) and freshman
Nick Schlapak (Dover, N.H./Dover)Â came away with an impressive victory in third doubles, winning by the same 8-0 score.
In first singles competition, Senkerik continued his strong play for the Valiants with a 6-1, 6-1 victory. de la Plaza kept the wins coming for Manhattanville, picking up a straight-set, 6-0, 6-2 win in second singles. Schlapak was unable to come away with a win in third singles, falling 8-2. Crowley, however, came away with an 8-1 win in fourth singles, followed by freshman
Dylan Mund (Washington Township, N.J./Westwood Regional)Â winning a 6-0, 6-1 decision in fifth singles. Freshman
Jaime Peredo (Uruapan, México/Instituto Morelos) was perfect in sixth singles for the Valiants, finishing with a 6-0 victory.
Following the non-conference victory, the Valiants return to Middle Atlantic Confernce (MAC) Freedom play Wednesday, April 17, when they travel to Delaware Valley University to take on the Aggies, with matches getting underway at 2:30 p.m.
