PURCHASE, N.Y. – The Manhattanville College softball team picked up a pair of non-conference victories over future Skyline Conference foe Mount Saint Mary College Tuesday afternoon, April 16, taking game one 5-1 and game two 7-0.

Game 2

Hartenstein doubled the next at-bat, and was plated by a double from sophomore Jordyn Boyd (Woodinville, Wash./Woodinville) next to make it 2-0. Manhattanville had an opportunity to score once again with two outs, but a failed suicide squeeze play ended the inning.

With one out and sophomore Brooke Franson (Newport Beach, Calif./Corona del Mar) on second following a single and a stolen base, rookie Giovanna Liggett (Fountain Valley, Calif./Edison) collected a RBI to make it 3-0 with a double. Senior Desiree Buboi (Villa Park, Calif./Orange Lutheran) hit a double of her own to plate Liggett and make it 4-0. Then, Torres notched yet another double to make it 5-0. In the top of the sixth, the Knights loaded the bases once again, but Hartenstein maintained the shutout by sending down the next two batters.
