PURCHASE, NY – Despite a season-high 68 percent face-off win percentage and advantages in shots on goal and ground balls, the Manhattanville College men's lacrosse team fell 13-9 to the FDU-Florham Devils in Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom action Wednesday April 24 from GoValiants.com Field.

Will Duval (Granite Bay, Calif./Granite Bay) scored two goals and assisted on four more for Manhattanville (7-7, 2-4 MACF). Duval's classmate
Nick Delia (New City, N.Y./Clarkstown South) recorded a hat trick, fellow junior
Gianni Ciffone (Briarcliff Manor, N.Y./Archbishop Stepinac) registered a goal and an assist – as did freshman
Matt LaBash (Stratford, Conn./St. Joseph (H.S.)) and junior
T.J. Caccavo (Carlsbad, Calif./San Marcos) and freshman
Harrison Yoguez (Trumbull, Conn./St. Joseph (H.S.)) both scored a goal for the Valiants. Junior
Ty Arnone (Poughkeepsie, N.Y./Our Lady of Lourdes) was dominant at the faceoff X, winning 17 of 24 battles on the night.
Manhattanville finished the night with a 24-21 in shots on goal and a 29-24 advantage in ground balls. For FDU-Florham (7-6, 3-3 MACF), Zane Johnston had three goals and three assists and John Belanger had a game-high four goals and five total points.
A goal apiece from Duval, Yoguez and Caccavo, the latter two both assisted by Duval, put Manhattanville up 3-0 5:34 into the game, but the FDU defense and offense both came to life from there, as the Devils scored six unanswered goals to end the half.
John Belanger scored at the 11:11 mark of the third quarter to put FDU up 7-3, but Delia took over from there, recording all three goals of his hat trick in a span of 4:28 during the quarter, pulling Manhattanville back within one.
FDU responded with five straight goals, two in the third and three in the fourth, opening a 12-6 lead. Duval added his second of the game and LaBash added a goal with just over three minutes left, but Pat Stewart tacked on the final goal of the game for the Devils in the final 80 seconds.
The Valiants wrap up the 2019 season Saturday April 27 on the road against the Monarchs of King's College (Pa.) at 1 p.m.
