Manhattanville Men's Tennis Blanks Pratt, 8-0

PURCHASE, N.Y. – Competing in the first dual match of the new school year, the Manhattanville College men's tennis team earned an 8-0 win over Pratt Institute on Sunday.

Following last weekend's King's College Invitational that saw the Valiants win all four doubles brackets, Manhattanville carried over the success against the Cannoneers. James Hourihan (Ridgefield, Conn./Ridgefield) and Weston Goodwin () collected an 8-2 win over Mehul Bhargava and Ryan Nelson in No. 1 Doubles, while the Valiants posted shutouts in the other two doubles draws. Luis Gonzalez (Norwalk, Conn./Brien McMahon) and Ryan Rosenberg () teamed up for an 8-0 win over Michael Kraiem and Henry Gutch in No. 2 Doubles, while the duo of Dylan Crowley (Pelham, N.Y./Pelham Memorial) and Max Moeller (Crestwood, N.Y./Iona Prep) earned the 8-0 win over Jack Jiang and John Lee.

The Valiants were victorious in five of the six singles matches, with the No. 1 singles match between Hourihan and Bhargava being called before completion due to inclement weather. The sophomore won the first set 6-1 and held a 5-0 advantage in the second frame before the rain.

Manhattanville earned 6-0, 6-0 wins in each of the five completed singles contests. Rosenberg repped the Vals in his No. 2 Singles win over Ryan Nelson, while Gonzalez earned the No. 3 win over Kraiem. Crowley bested Gutch in No. 4 Singles, while Shiel Loganadan (New York, N.Y./Mary McDowell Friends) and Vincent Liberatore (Yonkers, N.Y./Archbishop Stepinac) defeated Johnny Xei and Lee in their respective matches.
