Manhattanville Men's Soccer Uses Four Scorers to Roll Past Maritime

THROGGS NECK, N.Y. – Four different goal scorers found the back of the net on Tuesday night as the Manhattanville College men's soccer team collected a 4-0 road win over Maritime College. The Valiants improve to 4-4-2 on the year and now stand 3-0-1 in Skyline Conference play.

Eli Pardo (Norwalk, Conn./Brien McMahon), Kendall Davis (Atlanta, Georgia/Immaculata), Jostyn Blanco (Norwalk, CT/Brien Mcmahon High School), and Sebastian Testa (Clermont, Fla./East Ridge) all played their way onto the stat sheet with goals in the contest. Pardo was also credited with an assist on the Valiants' third goal of the night, while David Rendon (Red Hook, NY/Red Hook High School), Jackson Ayres (Tampa, Fla./Tampa Prep), and Chris Germain (Cornwall-on-Hudson, N.Y./Cornwall Central) each had a helper as well.

Following over 40 minutes of scoreless action, Pardo got the Vals on the scoreboard with just under four remaining in the half. The junior's team-leading fifth goal of the season was set up from a pass by Rendon, giving Manhattanville the one goal advantage heading into halftime.

While the one goal would ultimately prove to be enough as the Valiants defense held Maritime to a single shot in each half, the Crimson and White tacked on some insurance goals to put the game to rest. Ayres connected with Davis in the 56th minute to set up his third goal of the season before Blanco in the 60th and Testa in the 86th minutes would pick up their first goals of the season.

It was a relatively quiet night for Luis Granados (Pasadena, Calif./St. Francis) in goal, stopping the one shot on net he faced in the second half. The sophomore has now posted back-to-back shutouts and has allowed just one goal over his last 380 minutes of play. Granados' goals-against average now sits at 0.69.
