PURCHASE, N.Y. – The Manhattanville College baseball team opened their home schedule Sunday afternoon with a come-from-behind 9-8 Skyline Conference win before falling 9-0 in the non-conference finale against the Purchase College Panthers (2-2, 1-2 Skyline) from Manhattanville College Baseball Field in Purchase, New York. The Valiants (2-2, 2-1 Skyline) are now 13-7 all-time against the Panthers dating back to the 2004 campaign.

Key Moments
- Manhattanville put together a key seven-run rally in the fifth inning to trim the 8-0 deficit to one run. With the bases-loaded, Tyler Mandel's (Scarsdale, N.Y./Scarsdale) two RBI single pushed Brian McBride (Putnam Valley, N.Y./Putnam Valley) and Joseph Silvestri (Bronx, N.Y./Archbishop Stepinac) across for the Valiants' first pair of runs.
- The bases remained juiced for the rest of the fifth as Tyler Viscusi (Wappingers Falls, N.Y./Roy C. Ketcham) RBI single and McBride induced a walk to advance Luke Tebolt (Wappingers Falls, N.Y./Roy C. Ketcham) 90 feet to make it an 8-5 game. A Silvestri walk and Matt Lynch (Wappingers Falls, N.Y./Roy C. Ketcham) being hit by Panther reliever Jemel Betances' pitch plated Viscusi and Jake Parisi (Centereach, N.Y., Centereach) home, respectively, to make it an 8-7 game.
- In the eighth inning, Silvestri slapped a critical double down the right field line for Parisi to score the game-tying run. Then, Silvestri scored the game-winning run off Lynch's RBI single through the right side.
- After playing through six innings at second base, Viscusi moved to the mound and induced Dylan Flynn into a fly out to settle the 9-8 final.
