KINGS POINT, N.Y. – The Manhattanville College men's lacrosse team lost their second-straight game against the United States Merchant Marine Academy on the road, Saturday, April 10. Junior attacker
Nick Cornelia (Lindenhurst, N.Y./Lindenhurst) led the Valiants (0-2) with two goals in the 12-3 loss.
Manhattanville scored the first goal of the game. Sophomore midfielder
Connor Cassidy (Cold Spring Habor, N.Y./Cold Spring Harbor) found the back of the net two minutes into the first quarter of play. The Mariners scored one goal of their own at the end of the first and the two teams went into the second quarter of play tied at one goal apiece.
Merchant Marine then went on a run to take a commanding lead. The Mariners scored 10-straight goals starting in the second quarter and continued in the third to take a 10-1 lead. Cornelia then scored two-straight in the fourth quarter to bring the Valiants goal total to three. Merchant Marine then tacked on two more at the end of the game to make the final score 12-3.
Manhattanville will return to action, Friday, April 16 against Mount St. Mary College. Faceoff is set for 7:00 P.M. in Newburgh, N.Y.
