PURCHASE, N.Y. – The Manhattanville College softball team scored a combined 54 runs to sweep the Yeshiva University Maccabees (0-2) in a non-conference doubleheader Sunday afternoon from Manhattanville College Softball Field. Key Moments
  • After reaching base off a leadoff single for Manhattanville in the opening inning, Isela Casillas (Chula Vista, Calif./Eastlake) scored the game-winning run off of Sarah Harker's (Irvine, Calif./Irvine) one-out single off Maccbee starter Chana Boltax. The Valiants tacked on four more runs in the frame to pad the lead to five, 5-0.
  • Manhattanville broke the game open by putting together 18 runs in the second inning to extend their lead to 23.
  • The Valiants made history in the 13-run fourth inning. The frame was highlighted by Jasmine Feliciano's (Suffern, N.Y./Suffern) RBI single that pushed across Casillas for the teams 35th run of the game. The run dethroned Penn College, who set the single-game record in runs scored among NCAA Division III opponents this season (34 runs against Wells College-April 14, 2021.)
  • Jackie Fry (Ossining, N.Y./Ossining) blasted her first-career home run over the right field fence off Maccabee reliever Noa Applebaum to settle the 37-0 final. The final run helped the Valiants eclipse the previous single-game record in runs scored among NCAA Division III opponents mark set by the University of Minnesota-Morris, who scored 36 runs against North Central University (Minn.) on April 23, 2016.
  • Shinstine fired a game-high 11 strikeouts and allowed two walks in four innings of work and Feliciano fanned three batters in one inning to capture the combined no-hitter shutout.
