NEWBURGH, N.Y. – The Manhattanville College softball team snapped the Mount Saint Mary College Knights (11-5, 9-4 Skyline) six-game winning streak Saturday afternoon with 11-0 and 10-1 Skyline Conference victories from MSMC Baseball/Softball Complex in Newburgh, New York. With the wins, the Valiants (9-2, 6-2 Skyline) extend their winning streak to eight games.

- After a scoreless opening two innings, Manhattanville broke through by scoring two unearned runs to claim the early 2-0 lead. Isela Casillas (Chula Vista, Calif./Eastlake), who scored the game-winning run, and Jayleen Torres (Bellflower, Calif./Downey) both touched home plate off a throwing error by Knight starter Bridget Morris.
- The Valiants padded their lead with back-to-back home runs in the fifth inning. With Sarah Harker (Irvine, Calif./Irvine) sitting on first base, Amaya Esparza cracked a two-out homer over the right center field fence. Kylie Pester (Spokane, Wash./Lewis and Clark) followed by launching her first-career home run over the center field fence to extend Manhattanville's lead to five, 5-0.
- Holding a 7-0 lead heading into the seventh inning, Manhattanville tacked on four runs highlighted by Casillas. Casillas extended her hitting streak to 10 games with a leadoff single and scored two batters later off Harker's single.
- Charli Shinstine (Encinitas, Calif./San Dieguito Academy) fired three-straight of her career-best 17 strikeouts in the seventh to settle the 11-0 final. She scattered three hits to earn her third-career complete game shutout and fourth win of the season. With her impressive 17 K's, Shinstine now holds the program's single-game record in strikeouts, eclipsing Candice D'Andrea who had 13 strikeouts against Maritime College on April 11, 2001.

- Pester retired three batters and allowed three hits and one run to earn her second complete game win of the season.
