PURCHASE, N.Y. – The Manhattanville College tennis team won against Skyline Conference opponent Farmingdale State College, Sunday, April 25. With the 7-2 win, the Valiants improved to 3-1 on the season and picked up there second win in a row. They swept doubles and won four of six singles matches in the win.
At singles, Manhattanville picked up four wins, only losing in the second and sixth slots. Junior
Dylan Crowley (Pelham, N.Y./Pelham Memorial) won in three sets, 6-3, 2-6, 6-4 and junior
Nick Schlapak (Dover, N.H./Dover) won 5-7, 6-1 (10-6). Schlapak is undefeated at singles so far this season.
At doubles, the Valiants defeated the Rams (2-1) in all three matches. Schlapak and freshman
James Hourihan (Ridgefield, Conn./Ridgefield) won 8-5 at first doubles, Crowley and sophomore
Luis Gonzalez (Norwalk, Conn./Brien McMahon) won 8-4 at second doubles and senior
Alex Fleischman (Riverside, Conn./King) and freshman
Shiel Loganadan (New York, N.Y./Mary McDowell Friends) won 8-4 at third doubles.
The Crimson and White return to action, Saturday May 1, for the final regular season match of the season against Skyline opponent St. Joseph's College-Long Island. Start time for the away matchup is set for 2:00 P.M.
