Men's Tennis Ends Regular Season on Three-Match Winning Streak

PATCHOGUE, N.Y. – The Manhattanville College men's tennis team stayed hot and picked up its third-straight win, Saturday, May 1, against Skyline Conference opponent St. Joseph's College-Long Island. The Valiants (4-1) swept all nine matches on their way to a dominant 9-0 victory. Four different players picked up their first wins of the season including, senior Maguire Balke (Yardville, N.J./Steinert) and junior Jaime Peredo (Uruapan, México/Instituto Morelos).
 
At doubles, Manhattanville did not dropping a game. Freshman James Hourihan (Ridgefield, Conn./Ridgefield) and sophomore Vincent Liberatore (Yonkers, N.Y./Archbishop Stepinac) won 8-0 at second doubles and at third doubles sophomore Max Moeller (Crestwood, N.Y./Iona Prep) and junior Nick Schlapak (Dover, N.H./Dover) won 8-0 as well.
 
At singles, Hourihan and Schlapak each continued their hot streaks to remain undefeated in singles play. Hourihan won 1-0 at first singles and Schlapak won 6-3, 6-1 in the third slot. Balke won 6-0, 6-1 at sixth singles and Peredo won 6-0, 6-0 at fifth singles.
 
The match was their last of the regular season and Skyline postseason play is set to begin, Thursday, May 6.
