PURCHASE, N.Y. – The Manhattanville College women's tennis team won their second match in as many days, this time against Skyline Conference opponent Purchase College. The 6-3 win on Saturday, May 1, once again came with only four goals competing for the Valiants (3-1). Manhattanville swept all six matches they competed in.
The Crimson and White picked up two wins at doubles and four wins at singles to secure the 6-3 victory. At doubles, junior
Renay Charley (Redondo Beach, Calif./Redondo Union) and freshman
Bea Pretnar (Mohegan Lake, N.Y./Soundview Prep) won 8-0 in the first slot and at second doubles, graduate student
Maya Dziurda (Warsaw, Poland/Liceum Mikolaja Kopernika) and junior
Kelsey Ulzheimer (Franklin Square, N.Y./H. Frank Carey) won 8-0 as well.
At singles, Manhattanville picked up victories in the first four slots. Charley won 7-6, 6-3 at first singles and Pretnar won 6-2, 6-0 at second singles. In the third slot, Dziurda won 6-0, 6-0 and Ulzheimer won 6-1, 6-0 at fourth singles. Charley and Pretnar remain undefeated at both singles and doubles this season.
The Valiants return to action for the final regular season match, tomorrow, Sunday, May 2, against Skyline opponent Farmingdale State College. The home match is set to start at 1:00 P.M.
