Women's Tennis Closes Out Regular Season Play with Fourth-Straight Win

PURCHASE, N.Y. – The Manhattanville College women's tennis team closed out their regular season with a win against Skyline Conference opponent Farmingdale State College, Sunday, May 2. The 6-3 win was there fourth in a row. Graduate student Maya Dzuirda, junior Renay Charley (Redondo Beach, Calif./Redondo Union) and freshman Bea Pretnar (Mohegan Lake, N.Y./Soundview Prep) all remain undefeated on the season.
 
The Valiants (4-1) have competed with just four women in every match this season and did so again today. They swept every match they competed in at both doubles and singles. At doubles, Charley and Pretnar won 8-3 in the first slot and Dziurda and junior Kelsey Ulzheimer (Franklin Square, N.Y./H. Frank Carey) won 8-3 in the second slot.
 
Manhattanville continued their high level of play at singles. Charley won 6-4, 6-7 (1-0), 6-1 at first singles, Pretnar won 7-6 (6-0), 6-2 at second singles, Dziurda won 6-1, 6-2 at third singles and Ulzheimer won 6-0, 6-3 at fourth singles.
 
The Crimson and White will return to the court for postseason play, Wednesday, May 5. Location and time are still to be determined.
