Shinstine, Feliciano combined no-hitter leads as Softball takes a pair from Old Westbury

PURCHASE, N.Y. – The Manhattanville College softball team extended their winning streak to five after sweeping SUNY Old Westbury Panthers (0-12, 0-11 Skyline) Sunday afternoon from Manhattanville College Softball Field. Behind the second-career combined no-hitter shutout from Charli Shinstine (Encinitas, Calif./San Dieguito Academy) and Jasmine Feliciano (Suffern, N.Y./Suffern), the Valiants captured an 8-0 Skyline Conference victory in the opener before solidifying the sweep with a 13-0 non-conference win in the finale. The pair of wins moves Manhattanville (14-3, 9-3 Skyline) into second place in the league standings.

  • For the 16th-straight game, Isela Casillas (Chula Vista, Calif./Eastlake) extended her hitting streak with a leadoff single in the opening inning on Panther starter Christina Hassett. She then stole her team-leading seventh base and scored off of Jayleen Torres' (Bellflower, Calif./Downey) triple that proved to be the game-winning run. Torres doubled the Valiants advantage off of Sarah Harker's (Irvine, Calif./Irvine) groundout, 2-0.
