PURCHASE, N.Y. – Playing at home for the first time on the young season, the Manhattanville College men's soccer team was defeated by Skidmore on Saturday, 3-0. With the loss, the Valiants drop to 0-1-1 on the year.

Skidmore scored on the first shot of the game by either squad, as Roman Toepler was able to fire one past Matthew Rodriguez (Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif./Palos Verdes) seven minutes into the contest. The Thoroughbreds would add another in the 13^th minute off a shot by Nick Jardim.

The Valiants were hard-pressed to get much going on the attack, getting only one shot on goal the entire afternoon. Michael Mezzina (Pompton Lakes, N.J./Morris Catholic) was able to test Skidmore keeper Bobby Stratts in the 28^th minute, but the Thoroughbreds netminder was able to make the save to preserve his clean sheet.

Rodriguez registered three saves in net for the Valiants across his full 90 minutes.
