TROY, N.Y. – Playing their second match in as many days, the Mahnattanville College men's soccer team was defeated by No. 7 Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute on Sunday afternoon. The road loss moves the Valiants' record on the season to 0-2-1.
The Engineers netted three goals in the first half, including a pair of goals by Josh Gaudiano. RPI would tack on three more in the second half before Manhattanville was able to score their first goal of the season with 25 seconds remaining in regulation. Senior
Kendall Davis (Atlanta, Georgia/Immaculata) was able to finish off a feed from
Clark Brown (Nashville, Tenn./Hume-Fogg) and
David Rendon (Red Hook, NY/Red Hook High School) to snap the Valiant scoreless streak.
RPI outshot Manhattanville by a 19-7 margin.
Matthew Rodriguez (Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif./Palos Verdes) made four saves for the Valiants in the loss.
