PURCHASE, N.Y. – The Manhattanville College women's tennis team picked up their first win of the season on Saturday afternoon, besting Lehman College 6-3.
Opening up the day with doubles, Manhattanville's foursome were able to take both of their matches.
Renay Charley (Redondo Beach, Calif./Redondo Union) and
Bea Pretnar (Mohegan Lake, N.Y./Soundview Prep) were victorious, 8-2, in the first match, while
Kelsey Ulzheimer (Franklin Square, N.Y./H. Frank Carey) and
Ella Brown (Greenwich, Conn./Greenwich) collected an 8-2 victory of their own. Lehman took the third doubles match by default.
All four Valiants were also successful in singles competition. Pretnar led the way with a 6-0, 6-0 victory in the second position. Charley collected a 6-3, 6-0 win, while Ulzheimer (6-2, 6-1) and Brown (6-1, 6-1) closed out the day with their own victories.

For the first time this season, the Valiants will be competing away from Manhattanville. The Valiants head to St. Joseph's College (L.I.) on Sept. 22 to begin conference play.
