PURCHASE, N.Y – The Manhattanville College women's tennis team kicked off the fall 2021 campaign on Wednesday afternoon, playing host to Hunter College. The Valiants fell to 0-1 to begin the year after being edged out by the Hawks by a 6-3 score.
The Valiants were able to earn their first point of the day as the doubles tandem of
Renay Charley (Redondo Beach, Calif./Redondo Union) and
Bea Pretnar (Mohegan Lake, N.Y./Soundview Prep) secured an 8-6 win. Charley would also snag a singles victory under her belt on the day, winning 6-4, 6-4 in the first single slot.
Kelsey Ulzheimer (Franklin Square, N.Y./H. Frank Carey) collected Manhattanville's other win on the day with a 6-4, 6-2 victory in the third singles slot.

The Valiants will remain at home for the weekend as Manhattanville hosts Lehman College on Saturday. First serve between the Valiants and Lightning is scheduled for 1:00 P.M.
