ORLANDO, Fla. – In the team's last day in Florida, the Manhattanville College men's tennis team was defeated by No. 40 Haverford on Friday, 9-0. The Valiants fall to 1-4 on the year with the loss.
The No. 1 Doubles position was the first match to conclude, as the team of
Nick Schlapak (Dover, N.H./Dover) and
Ryan Rosenberg () were defeated by Jason Edmonds and Stefan Johnson, 8-2.
Dylan Crowley (Pelham, N.Y./Pelham Memorial) and
Jaime Peredo (Uruapan, México/Instituto Morelos) fell by an identical score in No. 3 doubles, while the second doubles flight ended with
James Hourihan (Ridgefield, Conn./Ridgefield) and
Weston Goodwin (Freeport, ME/Freeport High School) falling to James McKenzie and Adam Chow 7-2 before Haverford won the match via opponent retirement.
Goodwin had the strongest showing in singles play while representing the Valiants in the No. 3 position, falling to Abhinav Nallapareddy 6-3, 6-4. Schlapak fell to Patrick Kley in the fourth flight by a final of 6-3. 6-2, while
Shiel Loganadan (New York, N.Y./Mary McDowell Friends) was defeated by Max Beckwith in the No. 6 position by a pair of 6-2 sets. Hourihan and Rosenberg took to the court for the Valiants in the No. 1 and 2 positions respectively, both falling by scores of 6-1, 6-3 to Andreas Wingert and Danny Loder. In the fifth flight, Crowley was defeated by McKenzie 6-1, 6-0.
