FLUSHING, N.Y. – Playing at the historic courts of the Billie Jean King Tennis Center, the Manhattanville College women's tennis team lost to Skyline Conference opponent, Yeshiva University by a score of 8-1 in a road matchup on Wednesday evening. With the loss, the Valiants fall to 0-3 overall and 0-2 in conference play on the fresh season.
The lone point for the Valiants on the night would be earned by
Victoria Szele (Cos Cob, Conn./Greenwich High School). The junior was able to knock off Elisheva Gofman 7-6 (9-7), 6-2 in the No. 2 singles position. Unfortunately, the rest of Manhattanville would be unable to replicate that success over the rest of the event.

Alana Anderson (Wellington, Fla./Palm Beach Central) was defeated 6-4, 6-2 while

Lheenzen Chodenrixin (Bhutan, South Asia/Oakwood Friends School) for No. 5 singles was blanked 6-0, 6-0.
Luniva Manandhar (Kathmandu, Nepal/Rato Bangala School) ultimately did not play in the her No. 6 Singles flight, granting Yeshiva's Sarah Grunseid the win by walkover.
For doubles competition, Manhattanville dropped each match played. Brown and Szele put up a good fight for No. 1 doubles, but ultimately lost, 8-5, against Yeshiva's team of Kletnicki and Gofman. The duo of King and Chodenrixin were blanked 8-0 in No. 2 doubles by Shira Adler and Micka Mimoun, while Anderson and Manandhar secured at least one game at No. 3 doubles, but were defeated by Danya Parker and Nicole Abittan, 8-1.
