SCRANTON, Pa. – The Manhattanville College field hockey team was defeated by Marywood University after the Pacers scored ten goals throughout the contest. With the loss, the Valiants fell to 2-8 overall and 0-2 in Atlantic East Conference play.

It would be a tough battle for the Valiants as the Pacers would score two goals through the first 12 minutes of play. They would then be unable to respond as Marywood would score another three through the second quarter. Manhattanville would go into halftime down, 5-0.

The Pacers would be hot to start the second half as Cydney Lahr would score two back-to-back goals. They would then capitalize on their offensive efforts by scoring two more in the third quarter. Marywood scored their tenth and final goal with only 39 seconds left in regulation.

Cat Morgan (Hopewell Junction, N.Y./John Jay Senior), Florence Harrison (Melbourne, Australia/Balwyn High School), and Lidia Vasquez-Sinisi (Selden, N.Y./Newfield) split time in net for the Valiants. Morgan would get the start and make seven saves while giving up the Pacers' first four goals through about 20 minutes of play. Harrison would then take over and record a season-high 15 saves and give up four more goals. Vasquez-Sinisi would close out the contest, tallying five saves and allowing two goals.

For the Pacers, Cassie Slusser led the home team's attack effort with a hat trick. Lahr and Brie Sumner both scored a pair, while Dariene Jones, Felicia Pescatore, and Ava Howells each ended the day with a goal for Marywood.

Megan Keaveney (Clarkstown, N.Y./Clarkstown South) led the Valiants overall with two total shot attempts, while Alyssa Monahan (East Fishkill, NY/John Jay High School) would tab one. Marywood held a 19-2 advantage in penalty corners to secure the victory.
