WENHAM, Mass. - Freshman forward Emma Masie (Seaford, N.Y./Seaford) found the back of the cage to push the Manhattanville field hockey team over Gordon College, 1-0, Wednesday night at Brigham Athletic Complex.
The Valiants (4-6) even out the away record to 3-3 while the Fighting Scots continue to fight for the win column.
FIRST HALF
Q1 - MANHATTANVILLE 0, GORDON 0
To start the game, Manhattanville fought for five corners and fired off eight shots.
Q2 - MANHATTANVILLE 1, GORDON 0
Masie put the Valiants on the board with a cross-circle shot to the back right board just under three minutes into the second quarter. The offense recorded six shots, totaling eleven for the first half.
SECOND HALF
Q3/Q4- MANHATTANVILLE 1, GORDON 0
Throughout the second half, the Valiants earned five additional corners and ripped five additional shots.
Game Notes
This was the first match-up between Manhattanville and Gordon in program history.
Valiants totaled nineteen shots in the game, led by Fiona Doherty with five, Masie with four, and closely followed by Alexandria Maresca (Mamaroneck, N.Y./Mamaroneck) with three and two from Shannon Keena (Pearl River, N.Y./Pearl River).
The team's overall record is now tied with the 2024 season.
