Prior to today's match-up, the women's soccer team took the time to honor the nine graduating seniors for all of their accomplishments with the program.
Starting off, number 14,
Jayda Birch (Queens, N.Y./Excelsior Preparatory). The Queens native walked on the pitch at the beginning of this season after running cross country and has hit the field in nine matches. A member of the Vals' backline, she has played over 200 total minutes this season.
The second senior has had an impact on the program dating back to her first year.
Alessia Cioffi (Pawling, N.Y./Pawling) has played in all 14 games this season, starting eight. Cioffi has recorded 11 goals and eight assists over the last four years, with the most recent coming against Yeshiva, where she added on to both tallies.
Next up is a graduate student in her debut season. After completing undergraduate studies at Siena College,
Gianna Cuffari (Stony Point, N.Y./North Rockland) joined the Valiants and made an immediate impact on the program. Cuffari, before injury, had scored three goals in the first four victories of the season, with her career high coming in at two against Brooklyn College. She has appeared in ten games, making six starts on the year.
The two-time Skyline Defensive Player of the Week, with fifteen overall weekly recognitions from the conference, captain goalkeeper
Macey Girard (Branford, Conn./Branford) was our fourth senior. From starting all 19 games her first year to working to be the Valiants' primary keeper, Girard has had a lasting impact on the team. This season, she has earned a .706 save percentage as well as being a key member of the team's three shutout victories. In addition, she holds a 1.46 goals-against average for her career, and during her junior season, she became the tenth player in program history to hit 200 saves.
